The trading of A-Rod away seemed to send mixed signals to the fans in Seattle. What appeared to be a win-now team lost it's thumper and were stuck with some spray hitter and some good wheels. But as of late the trio of Mike Cameron, Rafeal Furcal, and all time stolen base king Rickey Henderson have been stealing some wins along with the 32 bases that they have swiped. The M's are 9-1 in their last 10 games and have snuck by Texas in what is turning out to be the wild wild Al West.
Over in the NL West is the closest division of them all. Lead by what appears to be an inactive Arizona team, 5 teams are separated by just 5 1/2 games. Baseballs biggest lead is 9 games by the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cards are holding 4 aces on their staff and appear to be going all in this season. In Tampa Bay, Fred McGriff hit career homerun number 400. Congrats to the Crime Dog. Nomar Garciapara is currently leading the majors in hitting at a whopping .403. Could he be the first man to hit .400 since another Red Sox great?
Just a reminder to head on over to the All Star Board and vote for some of your favorite players. This year will feature a game played in PBP mode live here on the boards with rosters voted on by you the GM's. Also the draft is still ongoing. Be sure to get your lists to either Oakland(who has been a huge help) or myself. If your a new member head on over to the draft board to find out more and see who you've picked so far. Next sim will be Monday, have your lineups done by Sunday night:)
