The year 2000 was a start of a new millennium and the Angel's hoped for a new era of baseball. As they have been unsuccessful for many years. It sure was a turnaround year. 85-77 in a very good AL West division, which was only good enough for 3rd in the division (behind the World Champion Texas Rangers and the Seattle Mariners). A few different highlights/dates to look at are: July 14, and August 30, on July 14 Garret Anderson became one of 5 players to hit for the cycle on the season, vs the St. Louis Cardinals, Anderson was 4-5 in the game, but it would not be enough to win the game, losing 3-2. Also on August 30th Darin Erstad extended his hitting streak to 25! Him and only 2 others would have a streak of 25 or more. The Angel's would also have there own all-star on the AL squad, Troy Glaus. The 24 year old would go 0-2 in the game. This was a good turnaround year for the Angel's, but they are now expecting better, we will have to see..
