Cincinnati gets: 18 69 87 Baker, Scott $6,500 Arb '03 18 71 90 Morneau, Justin $6,500 Arb '03
Minnesota gets: 29 81 81 Sullivan, Scott $1,500,000 1 25 85 85 Casey, Sean $910,000 Arb '01 26 79 79 Reese, Pokey $680,000 Arb '01
Reds Approve I like this deal alot, as I get the 1B of the future I always wanted and another great SP prospect. I give up a good bit, however, as Casey is a great #3 hitter and contact guys, Pokey Reese is my leadoff man, and Sullivan is a good reliever and second to only Williamson on the team.

There's nothing wrong with this trade... all the players Minnesota is getting are young and proven. Cincy gets the slightly higher peaks, but you do realize draft predictability is -20% in this league, right Toronto?

I guess, but Morneau is a stud prospect and Casey is just a mediocre first baseman.

in 2008 i agree this trade doesn't look great, but it will take a few years for baker and morneau to reach the bigs and i might as well try win some games now!!

I approve and yeah, you guys have to take into account that what guys did from 2001-2008 means nothing in this game. Morneau is rated about the same as Val Majewski. Players generally will be 2-3 points less then their peak and could be as much as 10-15 lower. Of course a small few become better also.
