I break it down as having two approvals and you are hijacking come kid not to mention in the sim file Patterson is better than Crisp

Look, I'm ok with this. I have a 29 year old Thome at 1B/DH, so I get power there. I need defense at 1B, hence Grace, who is good for another 3-4 years. With Grace I add probably 90 points in batting average over Sexson.
My SPs outside of CC and Colon are old and fading (Chuck Finley? Bobby Witt? ugh), and I need the younger Valdez there. Maybe he wins 100 straight Cy Youngs, who knows. Maybe he gets a Mogul 'severed knee ligament' and never pitches again.
Patterson is pretty good for another 5-6 years whether Crisp develops or not.
Betancourt may be a good or someday great relief pitcher, but he's a relief pitcher. There are dozens like him.
Sim all you want, they are unreliable. Every sim is different.
Now, having said that, I wish I had seen the real ratings, I don't think they were available last night when we made this deal. There is a chance I am giving one too many players here, so either Crisp or Betancourt could come back. But I made this deal and will stick by it if Cubs needs me to. If it gets vetoed we'll rework. Let us know, thanks.

Taking back one of Crisp or Betancourt would make this deal approveable.

Of the two, I'd rather have Crisp back. Would give me Lofton, Patterson and Crisp in CF and I'd have the OF depth I need. Cubs?

Chicago, what's the big deal? He didn't know the ratings when he made the deal. The deal is heavily slanted. Sending back Crisp or Betancourt will make this trade fair. Looking after league parity should be a priority.

I think just the fact that there's so much discussion about it tells us the trade isn't vetoable. Vetoes are supposed to be for grossly unfair trades. If this were grossly unfair we wouldn't even be discussing it.
There's two approvals and one veto from a trade mod. What's it going to be? Either way, let's make a decision here.
As far as knowing the ratings, that's my fault. I'm not new at this and I'm no dummy, it's my bad for looking at the file and not the posted rosters - I didn't know there was a difference, now I do.
Also, if you're going to post an opinion, please state if you're a trade mod or just joining in the conversation. That way I know if your opinion counts as a veto or an approval. Thanks.
"That's all I'm going to say about this though. " - Toronto, three posts ago. :-)

Chicago - yes, that deal is worse. That should definitely have been vetoed. The moderators dropped the ball on that one, for sure. Go figure. Cleveland - Sorry for trying to keep your team from getting hosed on a mistake. I'll make sure I'll keep out of your trades from now on.

Just messin with ya Jays, it's all in fun.
Agreed though, the Rangers got plunger-raped on the Clemens deal. :-)

True, two approvals so far, and I think one veto. Either way, let's get a decision so we can rework or move on.

I broke it down into 4 separate deals and I think it's close enough. Maybe Cubs gets a slight edge, but nothing drastic....

Betancourt, Rafael 24 RP 74 89 $10,900 Arb 03 Patterson, Corey 20 CF 75 88 $6,500 Arb 03 ---------------------------------------------------------
Diaz, Einar 27 78 81 $207,000 Arb 01 Grace, Mark 35 80 80 $2,850,000 2 ----------------------------------------------------------
Justice, David 33 LF 83 83 $2,600,000 1 Crisp, Coco 20 CF 70 89 $6,500
