It affects the specs more than anything else. Have you not seen how everybody's specs are developing and not lowering will lead the league to be full of 90+ OVR's. And it's idiotic to want a league where there's a crap shoot every year. Did your specs reach their peaks this year? I doubt it, and that's what I thought HoF sliders were meant to adjust, and that's what we all voted 10% on last year, but what do i know? No, the HOF slider doesn't mean they will reach it in one year, but it pretty much guarantee's they will. The HOF sliders were meant to stop everybody from peaking and increasing, not all in one year. Zack Duke has risen 5 points in OVR since the draft, Matt Albers has risen 6 and 3 points in peak. Juan Encarnacion has gone five up in peak to a 100 peak. Karim Garcia went from 76/85 to an 81/92. And that's just my team. And that's just my team. Last night Cards told me he simmed ahead one year, and one player went from an 81/81 to a 91/91, that will just happen with everybody, and every team will have 90 OVR's. It takes no work in a league like that.

Yeah, I simmed three years last night and Enrubiel Durazo of the Braves went from an 81/81 to 91/91. I have pictures if you want to see it, but that's proof enough we have to turn the slider down before it gets out of hand. I have pictures of a lot of other players with ridiculous ratings too.

No, you got chosen as an example of how this league will not have any competitive balance whatsoever if the slider isn't turned down.

Who the fuck voted to keep it the same? It's 100% idiotic to want a league full of 90's, and if we don't lower it that's exactly what this league will be. Cards picture shows exactly how every team will be if this isn't lowered.

We're arguing something in the GM meetings, which is meant to be discussed you dumbfuck. You argue about EVERYTHING and are a fucking hypocrite. Find a different league. Sorry that me and Tigers care about the future of the league while you just bitch about everything in sight you selfish bastard.

Oh and commish just double checking in case you haven't seen my PM or read my stance on this thread, I did decide to quickly change my vote from keep it the same to decrease it 10% after really thinking about it. So you can subtract my vote from there and put it on decrease.

Decreasing it just makes sense to me, especially after simming ahead multiple times. It's a useful tool for the commish to use to help keep some sort of competitive balance. In my opinion, it also makes those low- to mid-80 overalls worth something more.

I want to point out some things...
Marcus Giles in 2005: 15 HR, .291 Chipper Jones in 2005: 30 HR, .296 Alex Rodriquez in 2005: 40 HR, .321 Andrew Jones in 2005: 50 HR, .261 (yeah average off, but HR is too...) Javy Lopez hit .316 in 2004 and .328 in 2003 * --- I guess he didn't play a full season in the image anyway, but still... Reggie Sanders hit 21 HR, .271 in 2005 Durazo hit 22 HR, .321 in 2004
I just took these stats from around the period in the image, maybe it's 2004 or 2005, I don't know or care but it's close enough. Hessman is the only one with real life stats that don't match this and I guarantee his career is not going to be a HoF career even with 93 ...
So the majority of players come pretty close to their stats around this time in real life.
HoF slider decreasing means 20% less players than average will have a HoF career... it means they will retire earlier sometimes, their ratings will drop at younger age (maybe 35 instead of 37-38) to the point where they retire several years early.
You guys are putting way too much into overall ratings and not thinking about the stats, and the fact that this will simply make players decline faster and retire sooner later in the careers...
But oh well. Vote whatever you want.

Oh and Ben Grieve is off too, but guys like Grieve + Hessman, trust me they are setup to decline at a young age! That's the way the game is made.
These guys will NOT stay at 90+ for long. Even if you raise the HoF slider, they still wouldn't, at 0 the slider would follow the peak ages almost exact... increasing it would give them an "extension" to their peak, decreasing it shortens their peak/career...

From what I read on the mogul boards it isn't gonna matter. I read its not gonna stop player development. Just something I read.
